xocial (pronounced soh-shuhl) is an online platform for measuring positive social impact that started as a napkin sketch and has since become a buzz-worthy participant at international events and a partner with organizations such as the United Way and Life is Good. We’ve been working with xocial since day one, helping to define the company’s brand not just uncover it.

STARTING WITH THE RIGHT INTENTIONS
We were lucky enough to work alongside the founders and funders of xocial from the very beginning which included brainstorming thousands of name options until ‘xocial’ was born. Once the name was in place, the next step was to communicate the ‘feel-good’ mission of the brand which we defined through a brand guide and applied to all corporate collateral.
THE PLATFORM FOR BECOMING SOCIAL
Once brand and editorial guidelines were in place, we started working with the xocial team to develop their online presence. This included a responsive WordPress website including all design, copy and development and a consistent treatment and execution of their brand on all social media accounts.
xocial was attending some high profile events including SXSW and Comic Con and were looking to attract attention. How do you stand out in the crowd when you’re competing with the likes of monster brands like Apple or the new Star Wars trailer? Our approach was to be ‘nice and Canadian’ about things and use ‘feel-good’ statements on T-shirts and buttons that appeal to the ‘superfan’ base of attendees.
USING SUPERPOWERS FOR GOOD
Our creative included tradeshow backdrops, signage and a presentation reel animation that infused the ‘superhero’ theme and engage attendees to ‘tweet’ a photo of themselves thanking someone. That photo translated into a donation towards ‘Costumers with a Cause’ in support of ALS. The live tweeting and super giveaways were a big hit and brought the see good, do good, feel good mission behind xocial to life.
COLLATERAL TO COMPLEMENT THE CAUSE
As xocial continues to grow its platform for good, we have continued to create custom sales and presentation materials to support their efforts. Everything from ‘compliment cards’ to powerpoint presentation decks to campaign pitches to large brands like the United Way, The Girl Scouts of America, PetSmart and Life Is Good.
